The Experiment Task Force was set up by the TAFTIE network of European innovation agencies to help members become more experimental. The Task Force provided participants with knowledge and experience on experimental approaches through “learning-by-doing”. We covered a range of different methods, from fully fledged randomised controlled trials (RCTs) to more pragmatic and simple, yet systematic and structured piloting, applied in a real life environment. Agencies were given one to one support to help them develop their own ideas for pilots and experiments, and brought together regularly as a group to encourage peer learning. IGL designed and ran the activities for the Task Force, in partnership with the Austrian innovation agency FFG.
