Michael (joint appointment at NUS Business School and University of Lueneburg) studies the psychology of entrepreneurship, innovation, training entrepreneurs, personal initiative and proactivity, and learning from errors and experience; he uses action theory as a meta-theory. Author of 160 peer reviewed journal articles and innumerable book chapters, he ranks third in life time publications among German management professors and among the five most cited economists in Germany. He is the most frequently cited work and organisational psychologist and organisational behaviour scientist in Germany, and in Asia, one of the most frequently cited Europeans; he belongs to the 10- 12 most frequently cited active scholars in Management, Organisational Behaviour, and Entrepreneurship worldwide. He has presented more than 40 congress keynote addresses.
