Li-Wei is an assistant professor in the management department at the Strome College of Business, Old Dominion University. His research and teaching interests lie in entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and strategy. His studies focus on the career histories of founders and the subsequent organisational outcomes, such as new startups, the ability to obtain funding, and the (social) performance of the venture. Since 2016 he has also been managing the expanding dataset for the Entrepreneurship Database Programme at Emory University, which currently consists of more than 13,000 applicants from business accelerators around the globe. He earned his PhD in 2017 from Emory University in Organisation and Management, along with an MBA from University of California, Los Angeles.
