Supported by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the IGL Research Network provides a range of activities designed to foster research and collaboration. These include funding opportunities, research conferences, and support to forge valuable connections. Below, you’ll find an overview of some of our current activities. We are always eager to co-create new initiatives with our Members, so if you have any ideas or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Seed Grants

Seed Grants support junior and early-career researchers explore trial opportunities and gather valuable feedback on trial designs before officially launching their studies. Call of applications now open!

CFXS Annual Conference

Each year, we co-host the Conference on Field Experiments in Strategy (CFXS), bringing together researchers to share the latest insights from cutting-edge experiments. CFXS, led by professors Hyunjin Kim, Rembrand Koning and Sharique Hasan, offers a valuable platform for presenting completed papers and early-stage RCT designs and receiving feedback before field implementation.

CFXS PhD Workshop

Each year, we co-host a PhD workshop at CFXS to equip emerging researchers with essential skills for conducting experimental research. Designed for PhD students new to RCTs or actively involved in their design and implementation, the workshop provides opportunities for in-person interaction and feedback on trial designs.

Webinar series

Monthly webinars to provide researchers with feedback on their field experiments and trial designs before they launch. Do you have a paper, trial, or idea you’d like to present or get feedback on? If you’re interested in presenting, register your interest.

Annual prizes

Annual Prizes recognize and celebrate outstanding experimental research that has made significant contributions to the field. Each year four studies are selected based on their impact and influence.

Mentorship Programme

The Mentorship Programme supports young researchers by connecting them with senior researchers in similar fields. It offers a chance to learn from experienced professionals while allowing mentors to guide emerging talent. Interested in participating? Email us to sign up.

Matchmaking

We facilitate connections between the IGL Research Network and IGL Government Partners, including policymakers and organisations interested in experimental research. If you’re interested in connecting with potential collaborators or engaging with policymakers, register your interest.

There is more to come

We are thrilled to announce that we are rolling out several new activities to enhance and support our research community. Alongside our current initiatives, we’re introducing new opportunities such as a PhD Online Course on Experimentation, enhanced communication channels, and a range of resources. As we develop these initiatives, we invite your input to help shape and refine them. Your feedback and ideas are crucial for co-creating these initiatives and ensuring they meet the community needs. If you have suggestions or wish to be more involved, please reach out to us at [email protected]
