Marcos Segantini is a Chair Professor of Entrepreneurship at the College of Management and Social Sciences, Universidad ORT Uruguay. His research primarily focuses on understanding how public policies can either foster or hinder entrepreneurial decision-making and address gender biases in entrepreneurship. Additionally, his research includes factors influencing entrepreneurial intentions across diverse populations and the use of experimental methods in entrepreneurship studies. Recently, he has extended his investigations to study the research communities within these topics, leading him to explore scientometrics and scientific collaboration. He earned his Ph.D. in Policy Studies from Clemson University, South Carolina, USA, in 2020. Since 2022, he has been a member of Uruguay’s National System of Researchers at the entry level.
