Katya Vasilaky is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and a Faculty Affiliate at the Noyce School of Applied Computing at Cal Poly. She is also a Research Affiliate at the Climate School at Columbia University and the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) at UC Berkeley. Her research in development economics explores how groups, networks, and gender dynamics shape information exchange and technology adoption, primarily in agriculture. Additionally, she conducts research at the intersection of computer science, machine learning and economic focusing on how selection biases in data affect recommendation algorithms.
