Jonathan Stöterau is an Economist and Impact Evaluation Specialist at the Jobs and Economic Growth Unit of the World Bank. His work focuses on design and evaluation of labor market policies, with a specific emphasis on vocational skills training for youth in low- and middle-income countries. His current projects range from digital public works in Sierra Leone, youth skills training in Kenya’s Blue Economy, to an online job matching platform in Lebanon, among others. He further works on global reports related to digital labor platforms, active labor market programs, and entrepreneurship promotion.
Prior to joining the World Bank, Jonathan worked at the OECD in Paris, the RWI research institute in Berlin, and the German Institute for Development Evaluation in Bonn. Jonathan holds a PhD from Humboldt University Berlin and has published in various peer-reviewed journals, including World Development and Resource and Energy Economics.
