Federico Huneeus is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Duke University and a Senior Economist at the Central Bank of Chile. His research focuses on the formation of production networks and how productivity and distortions impact inequality. His work is at the intersection of trade, macroeconomics, and industrial organization. He has worked with administrative data, empirical and quantitative methods of firm behavior models for 10 years. He received the WTO Essay Award for Young Economists in 2019. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Yale University Cowles Foundation. He holds a PhD in Economics from Princeton University, and a BA from the University of Chile.
