Daniel P. Gross (Dan) is an associate professor at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and an expert in innovation strategy and policy. His research spans three verticals for innovation-driven change: economic, health, and national security. Recent themes in his work have included (i) the organization and impacts of crisis-driven innovation and (ii) coordinated R&D programs and deep-tech ecosystems. His research has been published in leading academic journals; reported by numerous international media outlets; and presented to or cited by a range of policymakers (e.g., the White House, Department of Defense, United Nations). He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 2015 after working in the private sector.
